Neha Iyengar, MD is a board certified, comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating various diseases of the eye including glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes, dry eye, and macular degeneration. She is an expert in small incision cataract surgery and uses the latest advanced technology devices and premium intraocular lens implants. Dr. Iyengar prides herself on delivering thorough and personalized eye care to her patients. She takes time to listen to her patient’s concerns and believes that educating patients is an integral part of the clinical exam. Her patients appreciate her warm, caring personality, attention to detail, and dedication to their best interests. She spent her childhood and college years in the Washington DC area. She received her medical degree from New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY in 2000. She completed her Internship at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX and her Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Chicago, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science in 2004. Dr. Iyengar has been in private practice since 2004. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and a member of the Illinois Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. She attends several yearly meetings to keep herself up to date on new advancements in technology and treatment protocols. When she is not working, she is busy with her husband and two teenagers. During her spare time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, skiing and spending time with family and friends.
